ABOUT
Our

Founder

Bailey Hutchison

Horticulturist | Herbalist | Artist | Founder of TruCulture

Bailey Hutchison, a proud native of the historic 7th Ward of New Orleans, Louisiana, is a multifaceted horticulturist, herbalist, and artist dedicated to cultural preservation and community empowerment. A third-generation grower and herbalist, Bailey specializes in Afro-Indigenous ethnobotany—the study of plant traditions and their medical, spiritual, and cultural significance to Black Dasporice and Indigenous communities.

Through her work, Bailey collaborates with local and international Black and Indigenous communities, pioneering creative approaches to restore food sovereignty and normalize the ancient practice of herbal healing. As the founder of TruCulture Community Farm and Market, she bridges tradition and innovation by sharing agrarian life skills, traditional foods, and the endangered art of herbalism. Her mission is to revitalize cultural connections, heal communities, and inspire a deeper relationship with the land.
